Help ID this stock/receiver

Looks like 22 rim fire, but I don't know anything else about it

Looks like a Remington Model 514. An economy rifle in their lineup but a well made rifle.

Thanks! I'm assuming the serial would be on the missing barrel?

I don't remember if the gun was numbered. Prior to 1968 serial numbers were not mandatory. Remington has stamped SN's on barrels before being mandated, I just don't recall if the M514 was numbered.

Interesting find! To identify it better, perhaps look for any markings like manufacturer stamps or serial numbers. Those can often provide a lot of clues. Reminds me of trying to navigate a tricky level in Slope Game – sometimes you need to really analyze the details to figure out the best path forward. Good luck with your search!
