Hi to All,

Just a reminder that the research is still on-going. Only about 400 serials so far, and that doesn't come close to the 10% usually needed to make some educated assumptions (guesses). A major problem is that in 1870, 4,500 SA Belts were sent to France, so right off the bat, 45% of Belts are basically out of reach of any research.

The monograph does answer some questions, and gives a better idea of the numbers made. It was updated with the French info, and the search for information continues.

Hello to the Remmy fans,

It's time to remind all that this research project still continues, and we are still looking for info on all Belt Models, the SAs and the DAs, or Riders. So far we have over 300 numbers, and have come to a few conclusions based of the info provided, including a very surprising sale!

The more info we get, the more we learn about these fascinating pistols.

Thank you all for your help and support,
Daniel

Hello Dan,
haven't seen Calibre 44 for a long time. Have you taken over the project?

Hi Henry,

Yes, Jim & I worked together for a few years, and he had health problems off and on during the time we worked on this project. Jim was in his 70s living in FL. He responded when I sent the first monograph draft for his input, and again when I sent the finalized first edition of the monograph, and a month or two later, but since then I haven't head from him. The monograph has been revised twice, and I try to update the serials and info every year. Some times there just isn't much to update maybe 5-6 new serials.

There was also a Brit RSA member, Philip Boulton, who said he was doing Belt model research. I contacted him a couple of times to exchange info. I sent out serial numbers, and haven't heard anything from him since.

The search for serials and info on the pistols continues. Monographs are still available for $20 including postage.

Hi Henry,
That it surely does, and usually a lot faster than we're ready for! And I'm 78. If nothing else, the monograph will provide a good starting point for those that follow
down the Belt path. A lot of searching and legwork went into that project, and the bibliography will prevent going over previously searched material.
