My grandfather recently gave me a Remington Model 11, 20 ga. Shotgun. It is marked 1030216 on the left side of the receiver underneath the Remington name. On the barrel it is marked with either a zero or a letter "o" followed by "SS3" and above that it reads "CYL"(I assume that means it's a Cylinder Choke Barrel" there is also a "W" followed by a "V" or "Y". I was hoping someone could help me out by telling me the date of this gun and how much it could be worth(not going to sell it, just curious). I will try to attach pictures of what is marked on it.
Also, on the right side of the receiver is very lightly engraved a signature that reads "J M Brown" with the "n" extending to underline the rest of the name. My grandfather's name is not J M Brown, nor is anyone I know of in our family and this gun was based off a J M Browning design, but still that's not the same name, I couldn't get a good picture of it as it is hard to see...any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Remington Model 11 Questions
The Remington Model 11 was built on J.M. Browning patents. Serial numbers for 20-gauge Model 11s began at 1000000 in 1930. Your gun would have been made the week ending September 20, 1930 --

The OSS3 stamping is a Remington repair code, indicating the gun was back to Remington at Ilion for repairs in July (0) 1947 (SS).
While we like pictures, if you could size them down before posting it would certainly help.

Thanks for the info, and sorry about the picture size, I don't know what happened.
