Does it have the plugged hole where the sliding extractor screw once went? If so then the MODEL 1871 stamp might have been missed. Roy Marcot and Ed Hull would be the best source of information. You should have Richard Hosners book, The 58 and 50 caliber rifles & carbines of the Springfield Armory, 1865-1872. But even it does not have the drawing you are looking for. Ed
