Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any info on the 11-48 model riot guns or Remington riot guns in general ? Are the barrels cylinder bore as are the Winchesters or are they modified chokes ? I have an 11-48 with the magazine extension and short barrel but it is marked modified. There isn't much info in books about the 11-48 in general and less about the riot version other than one was made. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks' Wayne

Re: Remington 11-48 Riot question ?
That is an interesting question. I just thumbed thru all the Remington catalogues I have for the period the Model 11-48 was made and I don't see any listing of a Model 11-48R or a 20-inch cylinder bore barrel. The May 1, 1948, Remington Catalogue, the last with the Model 11, has the 12-gauge Model 11R listed with 20-inch cylinder bore barrel listed. Likewise many of the catalogues I looked at thru of the period the Model 11-48 was built offer the Model 870R in 12-gauge with a 20-inch cylinder bore barrel. Likewise I didn't find any Riot versions of the Model 878 Automaster or the Sportsman 58 offered?!?
Re: Remington 11-48 Riot question ?
Thanks for the message. If you go to http://www.remington.com/products/archi ... 11-48.aspx it has listed an 11-48R model as a grade offered. However, that is all the info offered about the model.
