Quality Control of 870P.

Hello all I am new to the forums and new to Remington altogether. I would like to buy a NIB 870 Police but I'm not to sure about their quality. I've read pros and cons and most of the cons say that Remington has gotten bad with their QC even with the Police models. Is this the case and should I avoid this shotgun? I want to buy new not used. Mossberg's do not appeal to me and Benelli doesn't fit me right. So that is why I am looking at Rems. I also know about MIM parts but I talked to Remington and they said only a few parts are made that way and they said that they stand by their MIM parts when it comes to durability.
