I was given my grandfathers Model 12 It was in bad shape and missing parts. I've studied and read and read on this gun. I finally have all the parts and have identified the gun as a Model 12c. I took my time and reblued the barrel, everything. It really looks good. But last night after checking the stock and starting to put pieces together I realized that there was no place for the ejector spring to go. This spring goes on the trigger guard and is screwed between the stock and the trigger guard. Mine does not have a screw hole for this spring to attach. Would you have any idea what I have going on. I'm not sure who to turn to. I have all the manuals, I've even have another triger gaurd and it is identical in all ways except it has the screw hole for the ejector spring. I been all over the internet. Just asking . Thanks for you help.

Remington Model 12 Ejector Spring
Re: Remington Model 12 Ejector Spring
Figured it out I think. Its a Remingtion Model 12CS Special. Special being the key word. There is no cartridge stop. And no Ejector Spring. It only shoots .22 WRF ammo. But I haven't got any of this ammo yet. I will probalby have to go to Cabelas to get it. It is still made. Now tell me this how is the spent case ejected if there is no ejector spring???
Re: Remington Model 12 Ejector Spring
I have a functional 12CS buried deep in a safe. I probably wont be able to check it before I hit the road again. I should be able to get to it within a week, if no-one else answers your question before then.
Re: Remington Model 12 Ejector Spring
Looked at a 12 and a 12CS. Ejection on both is done by the firing "pin" which is a flat piece that runs along the left side of the bolt from front to back. The firing pin has an extension that sticks out the back on far left side. When the bolt is all the way back the part sticking out hits on the frame, shifting it forward to eject the case. Maybe there is another version with a spring. I didnt check them all.
