model 1100 20 ga LW 3" magnum

I have a 1100 LW 20 ga 3" mag,beautiful little gun,its in at least 90%except for one thing,before I got it someone cut the barrel down and added an after market thin wall colonial screw-in choke system.I have been hunting another barrel for it,if I'm luckey enough to find a LW barrel,it will not be 3" mag,if I find a 3" mag barrel it will not fit the LW.What was the deal with these,why did they stop making them,before I spend much more time hunting a barrel I just wanted to know if there was a problem with this model. thanks

I'm about to have this done to the same exact type gun. I just wonder if the cycling will still be ok with both the 3" mags and 2 3/4" feild loads. There will be about two inches removed from the 28" full choked barrel and then tapped for the thin wall chokes. The barrel only has 1 gas port versus the 2 that I usually see on most modern 1100's. Any help or knowledge from someone who has this setup would be GREATLY appreciated. It's hard to find out much about these models.
