Hi All,
Newbie here.
I had an old Remington double follow me home from a show last weekend. I didn't know what I was buying, but it was cheap enough that I rolled the dice. In researching what I had, I found you all. I haven't really dabbled with shotguns much, but this has a nice look to it so I took a chance.
I already load for some other black powder guns, so I may get a few 10ga brass hulls just so this old gal can smoke once again.
The previous owner had misidentified it as an1873, but I think it is actually an 1875 as it has rebounding hammers. It also appears to be a grade 1 from what I can tell and in mediocre condition, but at $450 I think I'm still in reasonable shape. I'd appreciate any input.
Here are some pics:

Looks to be an 1875 to me, and in better condition than a great many of them.

You definitely have a model 1875 and not a model 1873. And I agree with researcher that your shotgun in that condition is not found that often. Very nice purchase!
