Hello all,
I'm new to the REmington Society and this forum. I recently acquired a scarce, all original Remington MOdel 25 pump carbine in 25-20 cal in about 85% original condition, It has an issue in that it fails to lock up when cocked and you can repeated cycle the action without depressing the bolt release in the bottom front of the trigger guard. It seems this bolt release doesnt fully extend when the acrion is pushed forward home. I've takken it down and cleaned it with an action cleaner, but still no luck on resolving this. What might be the issue.
THanks in advance for your help.

If you just used aerosol it might not have been enough to do the job, drying things out rather than cleaning. The rifle should be fully disassembled and cleaned then oiled as it's reassembled. Check for burrs and binding as parts are put into place.
The Timing Lever might need adjusted, no changes should be made until the parts are clean tho. IIRC, bending the front of the Timing Latch upwards a small amount will facilitate locking.
