Rear Sight Screws Reminton 1100 Rifled Slug Barrel.

Post by VA Lawdog »

Hello all...I just bought a fully rifled spare slug barrel for my 1100 to shoot sabot slugs for deer. The rear sight on the barrel has a slightly bunged up elevator screw on it. The head is chewed up a bit. The adjustment screw for left to right adjustments on the sight is OK. When I went looking for the elevator screws I couldn't find any especially at Numrich or Remington parts. I did find on Ebay though what the seller calls the rear sight sub assembly with screws. The elevator screw in the ad shows a head that uses an Allen key. I can get one of those screws for around $20. Will it fit my rear sight or do I need to go with the elevator assembly with the Allen screw already attached? The sub assembly is running about $100. Thanks for any and all replies.

The Elevation Screw should be fairly easy to find and fairly cheap too.

The original screw had a slotted head and was Part #80906. If the head is just buggered a bit then a pass with a file, stone or sandpaper will dress the head, a dab of cold blue will darken, it should still be functional as most damage is cosmetic.

Later Elevation Screws had an allen head and is Part #90906. This screw is universal with many models in the Remington line including the Model 700.
