Remington 14 Firing Pin

Post by rogerclem »

Hi, First post here. I have a Remington Model 14, .35 Remington, serial number 126xxx. I'm concerned if the firing pin extension (the hook extending off the back of the firing pin/breech block) and the firing pin catch (the corresponding hook in the trigger guard) are fitting together correctly. The firing pin extension is bent slightly outwards, and I'm not sure if it should be shaped that way. And the firing pin catch has a small burr on the top of it. I've attached a couple of pictures and would appreciate any advice as to whether the parts look OK, or if there is any chance the firing pin will not be held securely by the catch, or any other problems. Thanks very much!
