Any info on what model this Remington 700 might be?

Post by chuckpappas »

I am the proud owner of this LH Remington 700 in .308 with a 26" barrel. The barrel has 2 sets of letters stamped on it (in addition to some type of "squiggle" mark in front of the letters that I cannot make out) in this order:
(squiggle mark I cannot make out) BT AZ.
The serial number is: E6518119. The stock is synthetic.

I sent this information to Info@remingtonarms
Their response was:

March 2005 is the production date.
Please know that after transitional activities stemming from the RemArms, LLC acquisition of certain Remington Outdoor Co. assets RemArms, LLC was not able to obtain full access to all historical Remington records. This includes some production statistics and dates of manufacture of specific Remington firearms. However, some historical data is available at: http://www.remarms.com/firearm-history/
You may also want to reach out to the Remington Society of America for additional historical information at: https://www.remingtonsociety.org/
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide additional information.
Thank you for your support of Remington firearms; America's oldest gunmaker since 1816

Is there anyone that can tell me what the 4 letters mean (in order on the barrel), or what model 700 this is?

I believe this is a BDL (has a hinged floor plate)

Thanx so much,
