I was hoping someone might be able to provide date of manufacture for my remington new model army
The number on the underside of barrel and under the handle stock reads:
57466 inspector stamp GP

Hello Stephane,
Your revolver was made in February of 1864. The inspector stamp on the left grip (GP) is the cartouche of George Palmer a civilian principal sub-inspector who inspected Remington Revolvers at Utica, NY from June 1863 to December 1864.
