model 1100 magnum barrel interchangability

Post by aelstonjr »

Hello my name is Art Elston and i have recently acquired a model 1100 magnum serial # N117361M and dated it using the list on this website which has it manufactured in march of 1979 the gun is in 95% + condition and was wondering if the replacement barrels available for the 1100's will fit and function properly the reason i am asking is because it has a 30" fixed full barrel on it and the reason i purchased it was for turkey hunting and would like to find a shorter barrel with interchangeable chokes so its not so clumsy to carry around in the woods and to mount when a shot presents itself any info would be greatly appreciated ! thanks in advance....Art

Any same gauge and same style (i.e.- Lightweight, Special Field, Magnum, or regular) Remington Model 1100 barrel will fit your shotgun, and other Magnum designated barrels will function with magnum loads. The only difference between the guns was that the Magnum barrels had one gas port instead of two, and they utilized a different recoil spring, and the Magnum models had "Magnum" roll marked into the receiver.
What could have happened... did.
