1879 Remington Navy Rifle Question

I was wondering if someone might answer a question:

What is the length of the cleaning rod for this rifle, and is the end of it threaded?

I purchased Mr. Myszkowski's book on these rifles and could not find that particular info.

I ordered a Repro Rod from Dixie Gun Works:

RP0900 50-70 SPRINGFIELD TRAPDOOR RAM 19.95
And it is perfect, though a bit long.

I wonder, are the threads the same as the threads on the trigger guard?
that would make my job tapping the new rod a lot easier.
