Model 241 Production Location

I'm communicating with a person who has a model 241 takedown for sale, and he says it was made in LAE. Can anyone tell me where LAE is and give me the "rest of the story"?

It was made in Ilion, NY. They were all made there. "LA" would be the barrel code for assembly in Feb, 1932 but the M/241 was not yet in production. So...,You have been given no idea what the rifle is......You need to ask for more details.
