One more request for Identification

Post by jbw »

Bought this lovely Rolling block on an internet auction, there 's something Hepburn about it.It has later been equipped with a standard army barrel in 11,6x51 (danish 45-70). Hammer and brechblock is not standard army, but could be the work of Husqvarna.
Is this the job of a clever local gunsmith or what?

Hello,

Your rolling block rifle looks like a Swedish Sporting or Civilian Rifle.
On the following web site http://www.skydevaaben.com/husqvarna/model5/info.xml
There is a Breech loading Rifle No.5 Express that looks similar to your rifle.
You should also try going to the gunboards.com On there forums page down near the bottom of the page is a section on Swedish Civilian & Sporting Firearms. You would have to become a member, but I think those guy's would be able to help you out.

By the way very nice looking rifle.

Have a Good Day,
Matt
