The old factory ledger, available on the RSA web site, shows that receivers in the 4611xx range would have been in production in the March/April 1942 time frame.

Look for a two- or three-letter date code on the left side of the barrel, just ahead of the receiver, and report back.

R = November and MM = 1943. Does the serial number on the barrel ring that goes around the magazine tube match the serial number on the receiver? A lot of these military guns got stripped down and reassembled many times at the arsenals where the troops were not at all careful about reuniting serial numbers. I have a military marked Model 31 Remington pump, and the receiver, trigger group and barrel are all different serial numbers. Also, it is a 1934 version and has a stock off a 1941 version on it!! I actually bought it because it had a solid rib, 26-inch, improved cylinder barrel I was going to put on a better gun. But, I ended up shooting it so well, it has stayed the way it is.
