870 wingmaster stainless steel

Hi:

I just bought, off an auction site, a Wingmaster 870 stainless steel. It is not nickle plated, it is stainless steel. It has a pistol grip, a synthetic fore end and is only chambered for 2 3/4.

I have not yet taken possession of the gun. Can anyone tell me something about the stainless steel Wingmaster? I called Remington, but until it get the serial number, they could not tell me much about it other than it was likely manufactured in 1957.

I can find NO evidence that Remington ever made a "stainless steel" Model 870. Beginning in 1992, they started producing the "Marine Magnum" that had electroless nickel plating.
