Rolling block saddle carbine ID?

Post by Friar_Tuck »

Hello guys,
Just received my first rolling block, and am very happy with it.
Cast the chamber today and found it is 43 spanish.
That is all I know about it.
I posted a bunch of pictures on photobucket, of all marks I could find.
If anyone has any idea on this, I would be very grateful.
I ordered a couple books, so I hope they will help also.

A couple more details:
overall length 36"
Barrel length 20.5"

Thanks again guys,
Jim

Jim,
Can't quite make out the company name on the tang. If it reads "Remington Arms Co." it dates from about 1888-1901. If it reads "E. Remington & Sons" it dates from about 1872-1888.
The mark on the left receiver wall (three circles) is real interesting. I've seen a lot of different marks in this location on rolling blocks but not these. Could mean almost anything but might be an ownership mark by a using country????
