Model 11 information needed, can you help?

Post by gbailey »

I own a Model 11 12 gauge shotgun passed down from my grandfather and I am attempting to look up it's history, value, disassembly instructions and replacement parts availability. I am not interested in selling the gun, just curious. I have taken it trap shooting on several occasions and it performs beautifully.

The barrel inscriptions are:

The Remington Arms Union Metallic CTG Co. Inc.

Remington Ilion WKS Ilion NY USA

Browning's Patents 10/9/00, 12/17/01, 9/30/02, 6/18/03

Full, R.E.P. KP(P or B

Serial # 91087

Safety is located inside trigger guard

I called Remington and they told me the gun was made in 1910, but could not tell me how many were made with that type of safety and gauge.

Thanks for any information you might have.

For Value I suggest you look it up in THE BLUE BOOK OF GUN VALUES at your local gun shop. For parts look in the REPAIR?PARTS section of this site. Jay Huber RSA

The model 11 had the safety inside the trigger guard from 1905 until 1928 when it was redesigned. Serial number 91087 was made in 1910. Serial numbers for that year were 82043 to 101714. 19672 gums were made that year. The model 11 only came in the 12 guage in 1910. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information, very helpful! Is there somewhere I can find complete disassembly instructions for the Model 11?

Check E-bay for:

Remington Model 11 Shotgun Gunsmithing Manual

There's a person selling repro-s of the manual for $9.99 plus shipping. Perhaps this is available elsewhere at a lesser cost, too.
