NM #88&90

Post by hendrick8 »

I recently purchased two Remington NM Armies. This pair of pistols was engraved and specially finished. Apparently they were ordered for someone with the initials BLF, which is engraved on each butt strap. The serial numbers 88 and 90 appear on the rear of each cylinder respectively, under the loading lever and under the left grip. Additionally each cylinder is numbered, one is C1 the second C2. Am I correct that "presentation" guns had their own serial number range?
Thanks, Hendrick8

Found the answer myself in Ball's Book on collecting Remingtons.
