870 Wingmaster Barrel Stampings

I just bought a used 25" VR 12GA barrel for my 870 and the barrel markings only indicate the Remington Arms Co, Illion, NY. My other barrel also shows US patent numbers, I believe three of them are shown.

Can anyone tell me what year Remington began to add patent numbers to their 870 barrels?

No idea on the patent dates stamped but your barrel code, left side near reciever will give you a month and year it was made. If that helps? Below is the link to go to the page to show them.

My 25" in question was made in 1957.

My barrel with the stampings was made in 1971.

So, sometime in between is when the change was made I guess.
