Remington 1100 Matched Pair Commemoratives
Remington 1100 Matched Pair Commemoratives
I have a matched pair of Model 1100 shotguns (410ga & 28ga) and would like to know the value. They have never been fired and the serial numbers are the same (27xx) with gold inlay lettering. As I recall, I bought them in the early 60's (?) from Remington and they have been in my gun safe since then. Anyone know the value? I need to make sure my insurance is adequate.

We do not evaluate guns since we can not physically handle them. I suggest you look them up in BLUE BOOK OF GUN VALUES. Jay Huber RSA

Jay,
Thanks for the reply, but I wasn't looking for an evaluation, just an estimate from guys who know guns as to what amount of insurance to buy. I'm no expert, and I certainly wouldn't expect someone to evaluate anything without a detailed inspection. I'm not looking to sell these, nor do I ever intend to. I want to leave them for my sons. Still, the insurance company wants an "approximate" value before quoting me a rate. I appreciate your response, though.
