Remington MDL. 31 12 Gauge Shotgun

Remington MDL. 31 Barrel and Reciever matching numbers. The Barrel has "Full", "CSS" and 87xxx stamped on the leftside. Can anyone tell me the year this gun was manufactured ?

The CSS date code on your barrel stands for April 1947. I have a Model 31 with a serial in the 827xx range and it has an LSS barrel date code which is February 1947.

"CSS" and "LSS" means the same date ? How could this be ?

Art's or Turnbull could restore it but the cost would be about 4 times the value of the gun.
