Remington M10-T-D
Remington M10-T-D
Hi......I'm a brand new member and would like to pose the first of what will probably be many more questions since I know very little about Remington firearms. I recently aquired a Remington M10 pump shotgun from an estate. It is a 10-T-D , which I have discovered is a Trap gun and the "D" indicates the grade. The serial number is 221172. It has a ventilated rib and an adjustable Morgan pad has been added to the straight grip stock. My two questions are: what year was the shotgun made ,and who might have done the engraving? I have taken pictures of the gun and can send them to anyone who might be interested. Thanks In Advance......Everett [im

According to the old factory ledger, available on the RSA web site, your gun would be a June 1923 gun. There should be a date code on the left side of the barrel just foreward of the receiver.

Thanks..........I was aware of the BLACKPOWDERX and letter code for the date , but there is no code on this gun ( at least where it is supposed to be ).

Re: Remington M10-T-D
The lack of a date code on the barrel may well mean it was actually manufactured before the introduction of the date codes in 1921. Do the markings on the gun say "Remington Arms Co., Inc." or do they say Remington Arms -- Union Metalic Cartridge Co."?
Re: Remington M10-T-D
It's Remington Arms. Here's another picture that shows the barrel legend.

Re: Remington M10-T-D
Researcher, where is the "old factory ledger" located on the website that will assist in the dating of a Model 10? Thanks. I have found the link to the ledger on another Model 10 thread, but I am still looking for date of manufacture on my #114,105. I know I have seen a chart of Model 10 dates, but later was told that new research has caused that chart to be dated. Maybe the linked ledger pages are the "new research". When was 114,105 made? Thanks again.
