Remington model 8 Factory Cutaway gun
Her is a neat factory cutaway with the brass tag soldered on to receiver reading "G2003" In Henwoods book he talks of very few factory cutaways and has # G2001 pictured. He claims one is in Remington archives and another in a collection in Maine which is where this one came from. Enjoy the pictures it's a neat piece of Remington history !!! Thanks for looking ! Re: Remington model 8 Factory Cutaway gun
Do you happen to know if there are any distinct markings on the inside mechanism that set it apart from standard production models?

He did not notice anything out of the ordinary concerning markings. He didn't disassemble the rifle.
This cutaway came from a collection in Maine.
