1894 A grade value

Post by dieNusse1 »

Just picked up a 1903 vintage A grade in almost great shape. The metal is great - doesn't appear to have been refinished. However some butthead applied a layer of varnish. Didn't even have the brains to remove the wood while applying finish. Didn't remove any minor dings - covered some of the metal - varnish has runs etc.

I've always been told refinishing guns may lower value. However, as the wood has already been refinished I assume that properly correcting the problem could restore some of the value.

die,

At the end of the day it's your gun and you should be happy owning it.

I don't believe you can do anything but enhance it's value to you and others!

Let us know how it comes out.
