Condolences on the loss of your dad. About the pistol, you didn't give us enough info to know for sure, like caliber, bbl length, and any markings, Also the photos all have dark shadow areas which may be hiding markings. There is a letter "H" on the left side of the bbl, which indicated a gov contract, but, without any other inspector's marks it means nothing. It appears to be in excellent, but is it original condition, or has it been refinished?
If it is a 36 caliber, it is a New Model Navy and was made in 1866 or later as a civilian model.
If it is a 44 caliber, it is a New Model Army that was made in Nov, 1863, and may be civilian or Government.
The RSA policy is that we do not give estimates of value without having the gun in hand.
Please send better photos, and note all the markings and we can be more certain.
