Lever takedown ("first offered 1901") , 22 1/2" round bbl.("offered late in production").
I'd appreciate any help in narrowing down it's year of manufacture. Thanks.
That would require the serial number.

The lever/round barrel combination on the No 4 is unusual for the 22s. It must be a transition rifle & was probably made in 1924. Unfortunately the serial # info in Rem records is not accurate so only the date code would tell you the month/year of production. The RD3 means it was returned for repair in November, 1935.

My maybe less then accurate list says it was made in 1928.

I'm quite sure you have the same factory info that I have... I've found that the Rem records for both the No 4 & 6 are off a fair amount. I have found rifles with serial #s up to 50,000 above the highest the factory records show. The later the production the farther off they seem to be according to the date codes.
