I do not have any of the above guns but I believe I have a clip for one of them. Only marked 30-06 and has a button on the side that when pushed to the center lowers the follower. I have seen these clips without the button on some of the newer guns but which models does this one fit?
With the button, it is for the Model 74/740/742/7400 series semi-auto rifles. The rear of the follower will be squared off and this allows the bolt to hold open on the last round. The button allows the bolt to close when the mag is empty.
The 76, etc, etc series numbers are pump action guns.
Without the button was/is for the pump action models. With the release button was/is for the semi-autos. I guess they figured its best to have the action stay open on the semis so you know your empty. Never really pondered why til now. Most likely to help facilitate cleaning the bore as the action spring will want to close the bolt when at rest. I just know that in a pinch or for the right price, the setups are interchangeable. Only thing not interchangeable is the action length, aka the cartridge family lengths. Yours is the long action and looks very much 742ish; 30-06, 280,270, (35 whelen in a few 7400s produced). Not positive that it will work in the 750.
All the Mags will fit either gun ! That being said , the clips for the pumps actually work best in both autos and pumps . The hold open feature on the auto mags is a poor feature in my opinion , as far as speedy reloads go ! With the autos you have to release the bolt to get the mag out , which is an extra and unnecessary step ! By the same token , you don't want an auto mag in a pump because it will prevent closing the bolt to extract the mag , which is more difficult to do with the forearm to the rear !
