id a No.4 Rolling block

Post by gunnut69 »

Sirs, I have a rolling block action(a barrel stub is present) that I am looking for help identifying. It is a 32 rimfire and it seems to be a #4 but the top tang is gone. In its place there is a ledge milled on the top/rear of the action. This is undercut to provide a kind of dovetail like arrangement with 2 screw holes drilled and tapped on the flat. There are also 2 holes drilled and tapped 1 on either side of the trigger guard with a shadow indicating something has been screwed down there. There is no lower tang on this action and the rear of the action is straight is straight. It also has screws instead of pins for the block and the hammer. This action has a screwed in place barrel and is in great shape. The tang is missing but the condition of the screw holes present indicates they have seen considerable use. The portion of the barrel remaining still has the standard rear sight mounted. I thank you all in advance for your help..
