Early 700 BDL bottom metal

The 1960's vintage model 700 BDL trigger guard & floorplate have a matte, dark grey finish. Later rifles have a blued appearance. Was the early finish hard anodized aluminum?

Unaware of the actual finish, but almost all trigger guard/floor-plates are aluminum.
