Need Wingmaster Info

Post by ron73644 »

I have bought 2 used 12 ga. Wingmasters (28") in very nice shape. One has a vent rib and it's serial # has a V on both ends. I know the suffix V means 2 3/4" only. I believe the prefix V means 1979.

The other one is a smooth bbl. gun. It also has a V at the end of the serial number, meaning 2 3/4" only. This gun has an S for a prefix. I checked a chart and that means either 1969 or 1998. How can I know? It could very well be a 1969 that hasn't been used much and well cared for.

Also, I was wondering what the approximate value might be of these guns. They are in very nice condition. :)

Ken, I realize the bbls. may have been changed, but, anyway, the letters on the bbls. of the first gun I mentioned with the rib, are ADQ, and the gun with the non-ribbed bbl. has the letters and numbers OT 17 on its bbl.
I wonder if the D or the Q represents the year on the first gun.
Can you even tell the month and date of manufacture from the serial number alone?
