Will the stocks interchange between gauges?
These are the later ones with the tang trigger guard.
Thanks

Re: Model 31 Stock Question
I don't have one in hand to prove it, but the 16- and 20-gauge receivers are markedly thinner than 12-gauge receivers, so I'm going to say no on the stock swap.
Re: Model 31 Stock Question
Rats, I have a 12 with a crack in it (fixable), but I have a lead on a 16ga stock to swap if it would fit.
Thank you
Thank you

Tang trigger guard? I have my dad's M31, bought new in about 1947, and the safety is on the back of the trigger guard.

Re: Model 31 Stock Question
Did anyone mention safeties in this thread? All Model 31s have the crossbolt safety behind the trigger. The trigger group in the 1931 and 1934 versions ends flush with the back of the receiver. On the 1941 version the trigger group extends about a half inch back into the wood -- a tang.

1934 version left, 1941 version right

Re: Model 31 Stock Question
My error. Saw the word "Tang" and inserted "Safety"
Guess you could say that I got my tang all tongueled up
