The serial number of your rifle would put it late in 1919 production. They came in two versions, the rifle having a 22" barrel & a carbine that had a 18.5" barrel with the latter being somewhat rare.

These great old guns were made in three rifle calibers, .25 Remington, .30 Remington (the most common), and .32 Remington along with two pistol calibers for the Model 14-1/2 which were 38-40 & 44-40 the serial number range in common with the Model 14. Later in production Remington introduced the wonderful .35 Remington which is still an active and well used caliber today.

While the three rifle calibers are obsolete they share a bond with the Winchester 25-35, 30-30, and .32 Winchester special in that the respective Remington caliber cartridges were identical in configuration except they were "rimless" versions. The reloading data for the Winchster cartridges can be used and in fact you can use the Winchester caliber dies to reload the same caliber in the Remington version providing you use the proper shell holder.

You can readily purchase new Remington made .30 Remington brass from a number of sources including Buffalo Arms who also have loaded ammunition made in all three calibers with the .25 & .32 Remington's made from re-sized new .30 Remington brass.

These are wonderful old guns and were made up until about 1935 although there is a smattering of them made well beyond that date. They were replaced with the "enhanced" Model 141 version which included a longer barrel but eliminated some costly milled features used on the Model 14.

Hope this helps!
