Have you done a chamber casting? Seems to me like that would be the easiest way to find out.
Edit: If you have a dial caliper and a "Cartridges of the World" (or some other publication with the cartridge dimensions and pictures), you can probably figure out what cartridge it uses by the bore diameter and rim diameter dimensions.
I agree with the previous post. I suspect it is Spanish as I don't see any markings on top of the rear barrel as is found on Egyptian models. The rear sight elevator is missing and that is real common with the Egyptian model. Also, guns don't tend to rust in Egypt or North Africa and your receiver has some rust damage.
BUT, most importantly, a lot of years have passed since that rifle has been surplused out and the only way to tell if the chamber is still original is to make a chamber cast or have it done by a gunsmith.
