1100 G3 replacement barrels?

Hi all,
I purchased an 1100 G3 at auction a year or so ago for trap shooting and have been pleased with it. I am now looking for an 18.5" replacement barrel so it is more functional for home defense.

In my research, I've seen 1100 barrels are not a match for the G3 and I've seen conflicting info regarding 11-87 barrels (yes they are ok and no they aren't -- both responses from Remington customer service). I have a support request into Remington, but no reply for the past couple days.

Anyone familiar with G3 replacement barrel options?

The G3 barrel is the same as an 11-87 with the compensating valve. I have used a 2-3/4" 1100 barrel on an 11-87 and do not recall any issues, but that was in 1987.
