I recently came across a Remington 700, which I am saving from the dumps. Although the barrel and receiver are in great shape, the stock was less than desired. Since obtaining the weapon, the stock has seen a complete strip down and fresh coating of dark, walnut varnish and several coats of Tru-Oil. The gun has went through a complete lube and cleaning and also been equipped with a Leupold VX-II 3x9x40 scope and Leupold mounts/rings and is ready to be put back together. It looks like it's going to come out great.
However, my question is this. This rifle is a 700 ADL with iron sights. One thing I am inquiring about is the jeweled bolt on the rifle. Did all ADL's come with a jeweled bolt or was this something Remington did for some of the rifles? And if so, does the jeweled bolt signify anything different than one without a jeweled bolt? Research has confirmed the rifle was produced in 1993.
Any help or information about my inquiry is appreciated. Thanks and have a nice day.

Re: Remington 700 w/Jeweled Bolt
For all intents and purposes, Remington has jeweled their M700 bolts since 1969.
