Need help identifying this rifle. 87 year old friend of family fathers rifle possibly grandfathers?

It's a 22 and the picture was taken in Indianapolis, IN. I'm guessing in a strip mall (Rockville Plaza Shopping Center) probably in front of a Subway?
Now which Ford model and year?

Thats wierd! Yes it was taken in Indianapolis and you are pretty close, It has .22 stamped on the barrell. Now lets see if you can guess the year this remmington was made.. Not a Ford though... GMC..

Got be a bit careful when taking pictures with an iPhone ;)
With a serial we can probably date it.

Looks like 214933.. Im going off a pretty fuzzy photo I had taken. The first 3 numbers are 214 I am 99% sure.

Generally don't give value's here only recommendations.
Typically the best way to tell real values is look for like condition gun sales gunbroker.com, auctionarms.com, gunsinternational.com, gunsamerica.com etc.
But ballpark a #4 in good condition is a +-$500 but you have to be + on condition to really crack the 500. (in my opinion)
