installing a top lever spring in 1902 Rem. model 9

I have searched for months for a Top lever spring for my now rebuilt 1902 Remington Model 9 single barrel shotgun. Finally found the darn thing, now what to do with it. There are no schematics available to show me just how this tiny little (expensive) piece of metal fits it the gun. Had it all put together, took it apart again to install the spring and got stumped! Any one out there know how this thing fits? Thanks, LGC
