I came into an old 1970's era Remmy 1100. Started to rebuild it. I can't get the shells to clear the magazine tube during cycling. The feed latch seems to hang on the lip of the brass. The latch is being pushed out of the way but not enough to allow the shell to feed onto the carrier. It looks like the feed latch has some wear patterns and it looks like the natural curve of the latch is wrong, like it's been bent but rebent. The portion of the action bar that pushes the latch out of the way is does not appear too worn. I am replacing the action bar and the feed latch. Is there anything else I should look at?
Thank you for your help.
1100 feeding issues
Re: 1100 feeding issues
The two parts you are replacing should do it, but I would make sure the magazine tube, follower, and spring are all clean and in good shape.
What could have happened... did.
Re: 1100 feeding issues
Yah, got new mag spring and follower. It looked so sad, this faded and worn beater that I had to bring her back. Had the receiver and barrel blasted and duracoated, magtube cleaned and polished. I hate it when you order parts and later find out you needed one other part. Beside the feed latch and action bar, I have replaced the o-rings, link and spring. Is there anything else in this 40 year old gun that I should preventatively replace?
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
Re: 1100 feeding issues
If you don't have one, I would get a spare extractor to have on hand. Only part I have ever broken in 47 years and 10 Model 1100s.

Re: 1100 feeding issues
I'll order an extractor to have on hand. I'll re-post after the parts are in.
