The fact that the serial # is stamped rather than engraved, indicates that this wasn't
engraved before leaving Remington. I agree, the stock doesn't look like Remingtons'
either.

Wow, this is a tough one. I know the seller and he would not knowingly sell a made-up rifle. I am not an expert on centerfires by any means, but to me the serial # looks to be engraved, not stamped. Also I didn't see a barrel code. It might be hidden under the stock, but I do know that some Rem high grade 22s did not have barrel codes stamped on them.

John Lacy, help!!!

Yes the stock comb seems a little high. I would like to know what the bottom of the recoil pad says. My computer isnt working right now, and the picture on my phone is way go small for details.

I guess I better make an appointment with an optician. On closer examination, I agree that the serial # is engraved. The old eyes aren't as sharp as they used to be.

Yeh, it wasn't relisted. Probably because of the timing of these comments. It may or may not be factory engraving. My guess is yes. The wood and pad???

The "huge price" ($895) on the other 721? Last year's Blue book shows it at $600 or more depending on how you grade it. Then the B & L variable scope & mount at a minimum of $250. I'll bet you would want that much if you owned it. The seller has 68 all positive feedbacks. He won't answer questions about the pad??? I doubt it.

This is the wrong forum to bad mouth someone's listing without knowing for sure there is a problem.
