In my opinion, the value of limited or special editions is dependent on quantity produced, type of embellishment, and condition. It also depends on the Model (rifle or shotgun) and commemoration.
There are collectors for just about any thing out there, but I believe interest in "instant collectibles" is limited. Unless it is new in the box (NIB) with papers, It's just another gun.
If you look at the Nylons, you'll see the Special issues are worth more than the standard types.

I might add that hand engraved is more desirable than roll embossed.
I have to admit that I have purchased some limited editions which are now worth less than what I paid for them. But I still enjoy having them!
