Remington apparently making massive model deletions?

Post by Wulfman »

Since it's a new year, I peeked into Remington's website a little bit ago to see if they might have their website updated and a new catalog available.
On the front page, there's a link to "Centerfire Rifle by Caliber" link, so I clicked on that (after I couldn't find a link to download their 2010 catalog).

Anyway, I noticed lots and lots of asterisks next to many models.......then noticed the following notation:

An " * " indicates the model is discontinued.

HOLY COW!!! They've really trimmed their lines of rifles. (to put it mildly)
Looks like all the BDL's, XCR's, SPS's, Mdl. 7 CDL's, 798's, 799's, everything in .260 Rem. and on and on......are (apparently) gone.
I also couldn't find a bolt action .22 (Mdl. 5) listed either.

Another thing I noticed in their press releases was that they acquired Barnes Bullets.

As Arte Johnson used to say on Laugh-In......."Verrry eenteresting... "

Will be waiting to see their catalog when they finally get it out.
