Re: Remington Auto Loading ID
[PRE-] model 11? Sounds like a 11 to me, made in 1909.

Re: Remington Auto Loading ID
The Remington Arms Co. made the Remington Autoloading Gun from 1905 to 1910. In 1911 Remington Arms Co. and the Union Metallic Cartridge Co. were combined as Remington Arms - Union Metallic Cartridge Co. Sometime after that combining Rem-UMC began referring to the gun as the Model No. 11.

Re: Remington Auto Loading ID
According to the research published in Jim Tipton's article 60,3xx would have been produced in 1908.
Does it have any engraving?
David is at a disadvantage since I have his copy.
Thanks again David,
Will

Re: Remington Auto Loading ID
The RSA needs to reprint that issue of the Journal with the Model 11 article, as many of us who don't have it want it!!

Thanks for the answer. There is no engraving on it.
I realize that the gun has no real value, but it's fun to hold something over a century old in your hands and know that it still works.
ambeecee1,I know how you feel! I just acquired one a few weeks ago, and took it out to the range for the first time on Thursday. Mine has a serial number in the 80's, I phoned Remington and they told me it was manufactured in 1910. It's not the best tool for the job, but I am taking it out bunny hunting tomorrow just because, and I think it will be awesome for coyotes and turkeys.
