A guy posted these on another forum. He thinks it's chrome plated. He called Remington and they told him it was made in 1974 and it might be chrome. (They also recently responded to another person vie email and said there were no 5 digit serial numbered 1100s, and he and I both have one of those.) I told him I think someone polished off the bluing and I don't think it was made in 1974 either, because I think all 48 series recoil operated shotgun production stopped in the '60s. I don't think he believes me, wht do you all think?
Definately not original. The Gold plated trigger is another giveway. It way be Chrome or Nickle plated. Most likely chrome. Remington's site says discontinued in 1968.
