Model 10TD

Post by kfran1234 »

I have a model 10 td that I haven't been able to get much info about. It has the name J.M. Houghton engraved on the trigger guard. Could this be the original owners name? Also wondering what the td means. Any info appreciated.

kfran,

There is no way to know about the engraving, but it is highly possible.

TD is an abbreviation for "Take Down" model, meaning the gun could be seperated in "half" quickly in order to ease assembly/dissassembly to case the gun for transportation on horse or early open type automobiles.
