Hi to everybody in this forum. Your collective knowledge provide a valuable resource for those that appreciate fine firearms.
I came across a model 1875, well worn but tight, that thanks to other posts I was able to identify in 15 minutes. The front sight is not pinned, marked 44 on the left side trigger guard and the serial number is a 3 digit batch number. So it is a gun built between 1882 and 1886.
Maybe somebody can tell me the meaning of the mark C.F.P.A stamped on the frame. Also what is the significance of the lanyard ring in the butt.
I suspect it was a military or law enforcement revolver?
Thanks,
Ngonyama
